AN OVERVIEW OF OUR BUSINESS
Jahez is one of the most successful online food delivery companies in the GCC region. Our winning formula is built upon our unique focus on key differentiating factors.
-
Differentiated online food delivery model
Our three-pronged strategy entails maximizing order efficiency, merchant revenues, and customer outcomes, leading to superior growth rates, and customer, merchant and driver retention.
Thus far, we have developed a balanced offering with an expansive cuisine selection, which caters to a wide range of customers, with over 1 million active users across 47 cities in KSA as of December 2020, thanks to our unique proposition to provide an end-to-end solution to our stakeholders across the online food delivery value chain.
-
The fastest growing player by market share capture
With our leading market share and brand affinity, we are well positioned to benefit from a very attractive food delivery market in KSA. In 2020, we outpaced all competition with 8% of market share gain, which was higher than any other player in the Kingdom. This impressive growth, with GMV reaching SAR1.4bn (up 2.9x on 2019), has continued into 2021, and we are set to continue to gain market share.
-
Well established and cutting-edge technology capabilities
Jahez has a differentiated, proprietary and scalable technology offering which drives constant development and innovation. The key facets behind our technology proposition are our robust architecture, attractive technology-enabled proposition for merchants, drivers and customers, and data and cyber security. Our relentless drive to meet the demands of the modern world through the use of disruptive technologies is at the heart of everything we do.
-
Ongoing diversification of product offering through expansion into new verticals
We have several future alternative growth enablers in addition to our core business, with areas of expansion into new verticals offering significant growth and further augmentation of the stakeholder proposition. These will provide us with further opportunity to address customers across a broader range of socioeconomic groups.
Examples of these verticals include:
Pik - a direct commerce (d-commerce) platform which brings local merchants within customers’ reach.
Co Kitchens - a cloud kitchens platform that aims to provide delivery-only restaurants with commercial kitchen spaces.
Logi - a last mile delivery platform providing companies with logistical solutions.
Red Color - an investment arm to acquire skills, know-how, and new verticals with synergistic value.
-
Applying industry innovation to all aspects of its business model
Jahez brings innovation to its online food delivery platform and new adjacencies alike. We have maintained continuous innovation in our technology whilst R&D costs have remained low and stable. Some of the main areas of continued innovative research and development include the automation of customer support, the automation of delivery (leveraging AI in logistics), and the utilization of drones.
-
Superior financial track record
Our management team has a strong track record of delivering consistent growth across key financial performance and operating metrics. Our GMV grew from SAR497m for the year ended December 2019 to SAR1,418m for the year ended December 2020, while average order numbers per user increased from 3.8 to 4.5 between FY19 and FY20, and revenue increased 2.9x over the same period from SAR159m in FY19 to SAR462m in FY20. We are set to continue these positive trends into FY21, driven by attractive unit economics, fast growth in customer base, increasing loyalty and order value and entry into new product verticals.
-
Entrepreneurial spirit underpinned by industry veterans and backed by committed shareholders
Jahez is proud to have 100 years combined c-suite management experience in its ranks. The management team is highly skilled and has strong knowledge of the KSA and regional online delivery sector.
Their deep knowledge and understanding of the key market trends and competitive environment mean that the company is well-equipped for its plans for future growth and expansion in both new and existing markets and verticals.
